Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Bridge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikael Sundqvist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, John Bridge! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mikael Sundqvist! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bridge misses with a two punch combination.
Nice sprawl there from Sundqvist as Bridge shoots in. Sundqvist throws a shot to the body.

Sundqvist slaps away a takedown attempt from Bridge, before circling back to the center of the mat. Sundqvist showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bridge.
A nice inside leg kick there by Sundqvist. That's going to slow Bridge down. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sundqvist blocks a head kick by Bridge.

Bridge tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sundqvist swats him away and circles back towards the center.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Bridge. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sundqvist jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
John Bridge seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sundqvist paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Sundqvist dodges the punch combination from Bridge.

Bridge is landing with some decent strikes but Sundqvist is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. A nice elbow there by Bridge. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bridge stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bridge wants it to stay on the feet. John Bridge is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Bridge uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sundqvist.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bridge takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Bridge will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Bridge throws a series of punches but Sundqvist avoids them all with ease. Bridge uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sundqvist. Sundqvist lands a nice hook to Bridge's body. Bridge takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Sundqvist scores with a jab to the head.

Sundqvist is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Bridge can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Sundqvist swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Bridge is now in Sundqvist's guard. A big mistake from Sundqvist there, giving up the dominant position! Bridge wants to stand but Sundqvist has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Sundqvist bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bridge's guard. Bridge wants to control but Sundqvist passes easily into half guard.
Bridge is staying active underneath Sundqvist, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bridge is looking to get back to is feet but Sundqvist passes into side control.
Bridge might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Bridge is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Sundqvist is controlling him well.
