Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cal Gehrig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JeanPierre Kusela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kusela has chosen Paradise Lost - Small Town Boy as his entrance music. Cal Gehrig is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gehrig scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Kusela decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Kusela looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Kusela throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kusela connects with a nice short shot to Gehrig's temple.

Kusela ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gehrig moves away.

Gehrig rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kusela moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Gehrig loads up on a big right hand but Kusela slips the punch.
Cal Gehrig seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gehrig stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gehrig wants it to stay on the feet.

Kusela takes the fight into the clinch.
Kusela jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gehrig walks away with a smile on his face. Kusela gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Kusela closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gehrig to the mat! Gehrig manages to get full guard.
Gehrig knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kusela on the ground.
Kusela tries to free his leg and advance position but Gehrig is retaining full guard.

Kusela sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gehrig's guard.
Kusela is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kusela is keen to just control but Gehrig is a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kusela wants to take a breather but Gehrig is having none of it.
Kusela is pressing down on Gehrig's thigh, looking to free his foot. Gehrig is holding on for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gehrig defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Kusela.

Kusela changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gehrig tries to avoid it but Kusela manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gehrig to the ground. Gehrig escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kusela tries to close the distance and clinch but Gehrig swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Gehrig misses with an attempted mid kick.

Kusela tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gehrig sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kusela somewhat.
Kusela changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gehrig tries to avoid it but Kusela manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gehrig to the ground. Gehrig escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
