Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Antti Hirvi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Monroe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Monroe has chosen Bad boy 4 Life as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 4 - 1, fighting out of London, Dan Monroe!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monroe throws a jab but it's blocked by Hirvi.
Hirvi throws a head kick but Monroe moves out of range.
Hirvi throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Monroe chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hirvi can pounce on him.
Monroe throws a jab when Hirvi was well out of range.
Monroe fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hirvi lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Hirvi lands a nice leg kick that just misses Monroe's sensitive parts.
Antti Hirvi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Hirvi, right into the meat.
No joy there for Monroe, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Hirvi motions for Monroe to come forward. Hirvi throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Monroe dips to his left and cracks Hirvi with an uppercut!

Monroe takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Hirvi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Monroe throws an overhand right that lands on Hirvi's shoulder, as Hirvi tries to avoid the shot.
Monroe on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Hirvi. Hirvi obviously looking to wear him down.
Monroe takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Dan Monroe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Monroe throws a sloppy head kick
and Hirvi counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Horrible takedown by Hirvi or perhaps it was just good defense by Monroe which made him look bad.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Hirvi lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Monroe has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Monroe and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Hirvi feints and then cracks Monroe's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Monroe down.

Monroe throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hirvi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Hirvi. Monroe shrugs it off though.
Monroe throws a lazy right hand but Hirvi sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Hirvi wants to land a leg kick but Monroe is out of range.

Hirvi fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Monroe.
Monroe throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Monroe missing with a left hand there. Hirvi was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Hirvi throws a leg kick but Monroe checks it.
Monroe swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Monroe takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Hirvi fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Monroe is out of range.

Monroe blocks a head kick by Hirvi.
Hirvi fails with a takedown attempt.
Hirvi throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Hirvi closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Monroe did well to prevent Hirvi getting side control.
Monroe flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Hirvi wants to pass to mount but Monroe is defending the position.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Hirvi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Hirvi throws a solid leg kick but Monroe takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Hirvi.
Monroe scores with a nice right hand.
Hirvi throws a head kick but Monroe moves out of range.
Hirvi dives in and grabs Monroe's left leg, looking for a takedown. Monroe pushes down on Hirvi's head and hops out.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Monroe throws a hook but Hirvi blocks it.
Monroe has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Hirvi.
Monroe lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hirvi circles away quickly and effectively.

Monroe's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Monroe throws out a loose jab but Hirvi uses good head movement to avoid it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

A clash of legs there as Hirvi blocks the low kick.
Hirvi takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Monroe ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hirvi moves away.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Monroe moves out of range of the body kick.
Hirvi connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Monroe fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hirvi.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hirvi fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Monroe checks it well.
Hirvi throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Monroe misses with a combination
and Hirvi counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Monroe throws a front kick that sends Hirvi stumbling back into the cage.
Hirvi walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Monroe counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Dan Monroe seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Hirvi throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Dan Monroe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Hirvi looks to throw a body kick
and Monroe cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hirvi is rocked!
Monroe is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hirvi.
Oh Hirvi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Monroe darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Hirvi's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Monroe before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:17 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Dan Monroe!
