Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Miguel Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dave Canon!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paul Aken and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Canon closes the distance and clinches up with Santos, looking for a takedown. Canon pushes Santos against the cage but Santos circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Canon dives in and grabs Santos's left leg, looking for a takedown. Santos pushes down on Canon's head and hops out.
Canon fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Miguel Santos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dave Canon.
Santos lands a jab to Canon's midsection.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Canon.
A lazy left from Santos finds it's target.
Canon gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Santos.
Canon shoots in for a double leg but Santos sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Santos looks to land a body kick but Canon moved away.
Santos throws the kick towards the body but Canon avoids it.
Santos lunges at Canon with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Canon's hand.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Canon fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Canon looks gassed!
Santos closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Canon out cold! Canon corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Miguel Santos!
