The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Back looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Thompson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Back. Back circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Thompson dips to his left and cracks Back with an uppercut!
Back moves forwards but Thompson connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Thompson connects with a right hand. Back shakes it off.
Thompson scores with a nice strike.
A big right from Back misses.
Back has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Thompson finds it's way round the side to connect with Back's head.
Back tries to move into range but Thompson moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Thompson stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Back shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Back on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Back takes one on the chin but seems OK.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Thompson connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Back is rocked!

Oooh a lovely combination from Thompson sends Back down but not out. Thompson dives into side control looking to finish.
Back is still in real trouble! Can Thompson finish him?

Thompson has hold of Back's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Back tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Thompson cranks the arm and Back screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Back, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
