Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Douglas Dogge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Austin Ricketts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Douglas Dogge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Austin Ricketts!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dogge digs a good body shot into Ricketts's ribs.
Ricketts avoids the head kick by Dogge.

Ricketts clinches with his opponent.
Ricketts tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dogge smiles and moves away.
Dogge is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Horrible takedown by Ricketts or perhaps it was just good defense by Dogge which made him look bad.
Dogge pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dogge with a lazy takedown attempt
and Ricketts counters with a three punch combo that has Dogge backing up. Dogge nods at Ricketts to acknowledge the strikes.
Ricketts takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Ricketts gets a takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ricketts is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dogge sees it coming and defends easily.

Dogge tries to get to full guard but Ricketts has control of the leg.
Ricketts is trying to control the action in half guard but Dogge is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Dogge really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Dogge is looking to escape.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Dogge changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ricketts tries to avoid it but Dogge manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ricketts to the ground. Ricketts escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Dogge gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Dogge will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Dogge is breathing heavily.
Dogge working a defensive guard but Ricketts manages to pass into side control anyway.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dogge is looking for a sweep.
Dogge struggling a bit here.

Ricketts works to advance to full mount. Dogge defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Dogge tries to control Ricketts's body but Ricketts pushes him off. Dogge squirms to his side and now Ricketts has his back!
Ricketts slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Ricketts is not going to allow Dogge to sit and survive in this position.
Ricketts keeps control of the position as Dogge tries to break free.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dogge wants to get back to his feet.

Ricketts has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Dogge has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
You can see the frustration on Dogge's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Austin Ricketts dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Dogge pivots, looking for a leg kick but Ricketts is out of range and Dogge settles back down.
Dogge throws a series of punches but Ricketts moves out of range.
Dogge doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Ricketts counters by clinching up.

Ricketts breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Dogge misses with an attempted mid kick.
Dogge tries to clinch but Ricketts is having none of it.
Ricketts tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dogge sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ricketts somewhat.
Ricketts fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
No joy there for Ricketts, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ricketts leaves Dogge with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Dogge closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Ricketts wants to control but Dogge postures up.
Dogge tries to move to mount but Ricketts blocks the move with his legs.

Dogge decides to stand back up.
Ricketts wants to clinch
and Dogge makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Ricketts. No joy for Dogge on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Douglas Dogge. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Dogge wants to control but Ricketts is keeping busy.
Dogge is trying to get back to full guard.

Dogge knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ricketts on the ground.
Dogge has his hands clasped together around Ricketts's back. He's all about the action.
Ricketts frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Ricketts lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Dogge working to try and regain half guard.
Ricketts lands a nice shot to the head.
Dogge tries to hold on but Ricketts postures up.

Ricketts gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

so Ricketts counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Ricketts trying to control the position from guard on top but Dogge is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dogge controls Ricketts momentarily but Ricketts frees himself.

Dogge throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Ricketts escapes and throws Dogge's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Dogge tries to get back to half guard but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Austin Ricketts showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Ricketts moves in looking to clinch but Dogge pushes him off.

and Ricketts counters with a single leg into guard. Dogge didn't expect that.

Dogge has his foot on Ricketts's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ricketts works his way back into a safe position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dogge wants to sweep but no luck.

Ricketts wants to control from the top but Dogge keeps moving.
Dogge seems keen to control Ricketts's posture.
Dogge trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Dogge is trying to control the position but Ricketts postures up.
Dogge wants to stand up but Ricketts is controlling him.

Dogge fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ricketts avoids it really well and circles away.

Austin Ricketts comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ricketts has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
