Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Cannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Roberts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Matthew Cannon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jay Roberts! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Glass and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roberts tries for a takedown but Cannon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Cannon works over Roberts's head and body with a nice combination.
It looks like Jay Roberts has been cut. Roberts drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Cannon lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Cannon scores with a crisp jab that stopped Roberts in his tracks. Roberts showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Cannon.
Cannon keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cannon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Roberts moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Roberts shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Cannon napping and manages to drive through into side control! Roberts trying to control the action but Cannon is working from the bottom. You can see the frustration on Cannon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Cannon is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cannon pushes Roberts away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Roberts gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roberts is trying to ground and pound but Cannon uses the momentary lack of control by Roberts to regain half guard. Roberts missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Cannon gets full guard. Roberts stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cannon swivels though and keeps the full guard. Cannon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Roberts doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Roberts manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Roberts stops Cannon from standing up. Roberts really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cannon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Roberts lands a couple of digs. Roberts trying to control but Cannon is working from the bottom. Roberts stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cannon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cannon is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Cannon keeping moving, preventing Roberts from controlling successfully. Cannon lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Roberts! Roberts looks gassed! Roberts is in a horrible position here. Cannon smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Cannon trying to control but he's not successful this time. Cannon lands a big elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cannon lands a big shot there that rocks Roberts but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Cannon trying to control but Roberts is having none of it. Cannon working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Roberts is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Cannon in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Cannon takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cannon landing strikes from the mount. Roberts is desperately trying to improve his position but Cannon has a good base and remains in mount. Cannon looking to control but Roberts is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Roberts is in all sorts of trouble here.
Cannon with good strikes from the mount here! Cannon wants to control the pace but Roberts is squirming around nicely. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Roberts can do anything to dispel that myth. Cannon lands a nice shot to the head. Cannon is working for a guillotine from mount but Roberts frees his head quite easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cannon has isolated one of Roberts's arms. Roberts looking to fight him off but Cannon twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
