Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Russell Brand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Scholtz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brand kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Russell Brand and Katie Perry. Jan Scholtz is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of London, Jan Scholtz! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Sam Margolis and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scholtz will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Scholtz throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. No luck with that takedown attempt from Brand. Brand bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Scholtz connects with a right hand. Brand shakes it off. Brand tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Scholtz paws at him with a jab and circles away. Scholtz stuffs the takedown. Brand really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Scholtz misses with a hook. Brand throws a sloppy head kick and Scholtz moves out of range easily. Brand gets a takedown into half guard. Scholtz wants to improve his position but Brand is controlling well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scholtz is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Scholtz blocking the ground and pound attempt from Brand. Brand content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Brand sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Scholtz defending well though. Brand looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Scholtz lands with a hook. Brand tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. A looping hook to the body misses from Scholtz. Brand does a little dance to reset his feet. Brand shoots for a double leg takedown but Scholtz sprawls well. He's pushed Brand's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Russell Brand. Brand tries to score a power double leg takedown but Scholtz sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Brand somewhat. Brand avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Brand is looking to clinch. Brand tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Scholtz swivels and escapes. Brand shoots for a double leg takedown but Scholtz sprawls well. He's pushed Brand's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Brand is breathing heavily. Scholtz misses the shot to the body. That's one minute gone in the round. Scholtz thows a left - swing and a miss! Brand missing with a left hand there. Scholtz was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Scholtz stuns Brand with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Scholtz jabbing away but nothing is landing. Scholtz takes a swing at Brand's ribcage but misses. Brand changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Scholtz looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brand stands up and we're back to a striking position. Brand shoots for a takedown but Scholtz saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Jan Scholtz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Scholtz takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Scholtz swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Scholtz lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Brand chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Scholtz can pounce on him.
