Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyquan Durden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pedro Cruz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyquan Durden!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Durden misses with a double jab.
Cruz tries to clinch up but Durden circles away and keeps his distance.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Cruz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Durden is squirming around, avoiding Cruz's attempts to control the action.
Durden wants to control but Cruz is having none of it.

It looks like Tyquan Durden has been cut.
Cruz avoids the attempt from Durden to control.

Cruz unloads with some shots from mount but Durden bucks and avoids them well.

Durden wants to hold on but Cruz pushes him away.

That has opened up Tyquan Durden's cut even more.
Durden bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Cruz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Durden throws a big right hand that misses.

Durden drops back, looking for a kneebar! Cruz looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Cruz looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Cruz!
Cruz cracks Durden with a big right hand but Durden just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Durden is trying to control Cruz's posture but Cruz avoids it.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
The referee asks Cruz politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Cruz prefers to stall for the moment though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cruz in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Cruz tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cruz has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Durden is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Durden is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Cruz is working for a kimura but Durden is defending it quite comfortably.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Durden is refusing to be controlled, as Cruz sits in half guard.

Durden manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Durden tries for a takedown but Cruz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Durden shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cruz's guard.

Durden is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cruz is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cruz has escaped and now he's on top!

Cruz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Durden wants to stand up but Cruz is controlling him.
Cruz is looking to work some ground and pound but Durden has wrist control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Durden keeping moving, preventing Cruz from controlling successfully.

Cruz avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Durden shoots for a takedown but Cruz saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Durden might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cruz kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Durden throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cruz was covering up waiting for the punch and Durden finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Durden postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Durden wants to control from the top but Cruz keeps moving.
Durden with a flurry of punches that miss.
Cruz is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Durden stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cruz swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Durden stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Cruz has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Durden manages to get his head free but now Cruz has transitioned to an armbar! Durden grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Cruz! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Pedro Cruz!
