Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Uriel Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Ness (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Uriel Black!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Ness!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ness.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ness is defended easily by Black.
A good leg kick by Black.
Black steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ness.
Horrible takedown by Ness or perhaps it was just good defense by Black which made him look bad.
Ness uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Black.
Ness throws a nice looking combination but Black bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Uriel Black has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Ness.

Ness closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ness lands in his opponent's guard.

Black is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ness defends well.

Black has his foot on Ness's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ness works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Ness bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Black tries to bench press Ness off him but Ness keeps the position.

Black tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.

Ness breaks from Black's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Ness throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Black is trying desperately to improve position.
Black is squirming around, avoiding Ness's attempts to control the action.
Ness has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ness working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Black wants to control but Ness is having none of it.
Black is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Black is looking to improve his position but Ness isn't that keen on the idea.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Black stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Black wants it to stay on the feet.

Uriel Black is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Nice uppercut lands for Black. That snapped Ness's head back.

Ness will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Mike Ness seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ness fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Black sprawls well initially but Ness persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Black is looking to control Ness's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Black avoid being mounted?
Ness looks to land a strike but Black avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Black looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Ness wants to control from the top but Black keeps moving.

Ness passes Black's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Black tries to get to full guard but Ness has control of the leg.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Ness misses with a takedown attempt - Black sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Ness tries to score a power double leg takedown but Black sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ness somewhat.

Ness uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Black.

Mike Ness showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Black shoots in looking for a takedown. Ness tries to sprawl out of it but Black keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ness manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ness shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Black as he avoids it easily.

Black tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Ness dives in and grabs Black's left leg, looking for a takedown. Black pushes down on Ness's head and hops out.

Black displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ness.

Ness takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Ness fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Black on the side of the head.
Nice uppercut lands for Black. That snapped Ness's head back.
Ness looks to land a combination but Black avoids it well.
Ness swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Ness feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Black misses with a double jab.
Ness lands a lovely overhand right.
Black uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Ness has time to react.
Black fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ness manages to avoid it.
Ness avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Ness shoots for a takedown but Black saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Uriel Black has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
A bone on bone clash there as Ness blocks the leg kick.
A punch lands to the side of Ness 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Mike Ness is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Black takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Ness closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Black to the mat! Black manages to get full guard.
Black preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Ness trying to control but Black is working from the bottom.
Black working a defensive guard but Ness manages to pass into side control anyway.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Black takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mike Ness comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Ness winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
