Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kevin Kimiko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rocky Balboa! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kimiko looks to land a combination but Balboa avoids it well. Balboa takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Kimiko throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Balboa closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Balboa lands in his opponent's guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Kimiko keeping moving, preventing Balboa from controlling successfully. Kimiko wants to get back to his feet but Balboa passes into half guard.
Balboa sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kimiko defending well though. Balboa prevents Kimiko from improving his position. Kimiko makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kimiko. Kimiko is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Balboa is controlling him. Balboa should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Kimiko has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Balboa can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Kimiko wants to stand and escape but Balboa is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Balboa stands up from guard. Let's bang! Kimiko is breathing heavily. Balboa feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Balboa trying to control but Kimiko is working from the bottom. Kimiko working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Balboa doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Balboa manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Balboa is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Balboa trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Balboa passes into half guard. Kimiko is looking to get back to is feet but Balboa passes into side control.
Balboa thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Kimiko pushes Balboa away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Balboa gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Balboa lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kimiko down.
Kimiko is trying to get back to half guard. Kimiko is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Balboa has just dragged him back down to the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kimiko sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Balboa stops Kimiko from getting back to his feet.
Kimiko looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Kimiko tries to kick Balboa off but Balboa keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Balboa avoids the body shot from Kimiko.
Balboa looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kimiko is fending him off so far but Balboa persists. Nope, Kimiko circles away and we're back to standing. Nice straight punches there by Kimiko. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Kimiko. Kimiko looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Some wild striking there from Kimiko.
No joy there for Kimiko, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Nice takedown defense from Kimiko. No joy for Balboa on that attempt. Balboa dodges the punch combination from Kimiko.
Kimiko tries to bum rush Balboa with a series of wild strikes but Balboa uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Kimiko thuds his right hand into Balboa's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Balboa shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kimiko pinned against the cage. Kimiko gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Kevin Kimiko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rocky Balboa.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kimiko throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Kimiko looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Balboa drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kimiko tries to buck Balboa off but Balboa is having none of it. Balboa prevents Kimiko from escaping the position. Kimiko is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Balboa off and has taken his back! Kimiko has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Balboa has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Balboa defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. I really don't envy Balboa right now.

Kimiko is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Balboa defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Kimiko has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Balboa manages to reverse the position and now he's in Kimiko's guard. Nice work there by Balboa.
Balboa is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Balboa prevents Kimiko from getting back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kevin Kimiko dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Balboa shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Kimiko looking for subs from the bottom but Balboa mounts him! Balboa prevents Kimiko from getting the reversal. Balboa with good strikes from the mount here! Balboa moves to take his opponent's back. Well, with Balboa on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Kimiko is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Balboa is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kimiko rolls, trying to escape but Balboa keeps control of the position.

Kimiko covering up well under a barage of strikes. Even with his hooks in, Balboa manages to miss with strikes from the back. Balboa looking for the choke but no joy. Kimiko is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Balboa gets his way!

Kimiko covering up well under a barage of strikes. Kimiko prevents Balboa from getting a body triangle. Kimiko is trying to break free.
Kimiko is trying to get back to his feet but Balboa has full control of the position and if anything, Kimiko has just worked his way into a worse spot. Balboa misses with punches from the back. Rocky Balboa has got the better of the ground game so far. Kimiko rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Balboa is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Balboa has his feet on Kimiko's thighs here. He's pushed Kimiko off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Kimiko screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
