1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Edwin Valero! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Manguray tries to clinch but Valero moves out of range. Valero takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

and Manguray counters with a body kick. Valero looks gassed! Valero swats away the attempt to clinch by Manguray. Manguray tries to score a power double leg takedown but Valero sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Manguray somewhat. That's two minutes gone in the round. Valero throws an overhand right that lands on Manguray's shoulder, as Manguray tries to avoid the shot. Valero keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Manguray scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Manguray controls the position. Manguray tries for a kimura but Valero is defending well. Valero wants to get back to his feet but Manguray drags him back down.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Valero is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Manguray has just dragged him back down to the mat. Manguray stands up and we're back to a striking position. Manguray wants to clinch up but Valero keeps it at a distance. Manguray shoots in but Valero avoids the takedown attempt easily. Manguray shoots in for a takedown but Valero shows good takedown defense. Manguray fails with the takedown. Valero swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Manguray counters with a leg kick. Valero avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Horrible takedown by Manguray or perhaps it was just good defense by Valero which made him look bad. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Angelito Manguray will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Angelito Manguray's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

and Manguray connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Manguray shoots in looking for a takedown. Valero tries to sprawl out of it but Manguray keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Valero manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Valero misses with a body kick. Valero throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Manguray connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Valero in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Valero misses the shot to the body. Valero throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Manguray fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Valero, pushing him back against the cage. Manguray ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Manguray no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Manguray looking to control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Manguray pulls Valero in close to prevent any damage. Valero trying to control the position from guard on top but Manguray is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Valero wants to control from the top but Manguray keeps moving. Manguray will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Manguray shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Valero is trying to stand. Manguray lands a heavy elbow. Valero blocking the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Manguray counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Manguray thows a huge punch but Valero dodges it nicely.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Manguray is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Manguray shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Valero sprawls well. Valero wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Manguray gets slowly back to his feet. Manguray tries to score a power double leg takedown but Valero sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Manguray somewhat. Angelito Manguray is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Valero throws a combination that misses and Manguray counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Manguray. Edwin Valero has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Angelito Manguray is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Manguray avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
