The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kuusela fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Moreira sprawls well initially but Kuusela persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Kuusela changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Moreira looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Kuusela throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kuusela lands a nice short elbow.
Kuusela looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Moreira with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Kuusela stops Moreira from getting back to his feet.

Kuusela is trying to work for a kimura but Moreira is defending well.
Kuusela is keen to just control but Moreira is a slippery customer.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kuusela thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Moreira's head.

Kuusela is working for a kimura but Moreira is defending it quite comfortably.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Kuusela fails to land with a series of punches.
Whack! Moreira lands a heavy head kick that drops Kuusela. The ref tackles Moreira to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Kuusela was done.
