Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dmitriy Boyko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carson Cools (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carson Cools is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dmitriy Boyko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carson Cools! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cools decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Cools is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Boyko sees it coming and defends easily. Boyko regains full guard. Nicely done. Cools looking to pass the guard. Cools scoring with some ground and pound. Cools stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Boyko swivels though and keeps the full guard. Cools is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Cools works over Boyko with some ground and pound from guard. Cools looking to pass the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boyko throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Boyko is breathing heavily. Boyko keeping moving, preventing Cools from controlling successfully. Cools must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Cools prevents Boyko from getting back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Cools wants to get up but he can't break Boyko's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Boyko tries for a takedown but Cools circles away easily and Cools moves into the clinch. Cools tries to stall but Boyko uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Cools has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Boyko avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Boyko tries to pull guard but Cools holds him up against the cage and eventually Boyko drops back down to his feet.
Boyko gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Cools.
Cools manages to break the clinch.
Boyko avoids the body shot from Cools.
Cools slips a jab and a cross from Boyko.
Cools tries to clinch up but Boyko circles away and keeps his distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Excellent takedown into side control there by Cools. Boyko striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Boyko is trying to improve his position. You can see the frustration on Boyko's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Cools tries to advance to mount but can't. Cools stands up and we're back to a striking position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cools wants to clinch up but Boyko keeps it at a distance. Cools closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Boyko manages to break the clinch.
Cools shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Boyko's guard. Boyko looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cools is one step ahead there. Cools trying to control but Boyko is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carson Cools dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Boyko is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Cools. Dmitriy Boyko is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Boyko throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Cools gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily so Boyko counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Boyko wants to control from the top but Cools keeps moving. Boyko is looking to advance position but Cools has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Cools gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cools shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Boyko is trying to defend but Cools finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Cools seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Boyko has recovered full guard. Cools postures up.
Cools wants to stand but Boyko has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Cools gets to his feet. Boyko looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boyko misses with a takedown attempt and Cools counters by clinching up. Cools breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Boyko feints and as Cools raises his hands in defense, Boyko changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Boyko sitting in guard here, content to control. Boyko tries to stand but Cools is controlling from the bottom. Cools wants to control the position but Boyko says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Cools is trying to stand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boyko looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Boyko tries to pass to full mount but Cools defends it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cools trying to control from the bottom.
Boyko moves nicely into side control. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Boyko misses with the ground and pound. Cools is trying to get back to half guard. Boyko wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cools keeps working. Cools is looking for a sweep. Boyko scoring with punches and elbows. Boyko trying to control the position but Cools is working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dmitriy Boyko dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Boyko gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Cools counters with a nice double leg into side control. Boyko won't be happy with that. Cools takes a little break here. Boyko wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Cools working the head with strikes. Cools scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Boyko to see if he's OK. Cools creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Boyko takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Boyko tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cools wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cools moves into full mount! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Cools looking to control but Boyko is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Boyko regains half guard. Cools seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Boyko does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Cools tries to pass the half guard into mount. Boyko knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Carson Cools has got the better of the ground game so far. Cools seems to be looking for submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Boyko keeps control of the position for the meantime. Cools is looking to take a break and control but Boyko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Boyko won't allow Cools to pass to mount. Cools wants to control but Boyko is keeping him busy. Cools working Boyko over with strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Boyko shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Cools decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Boyko's guard. Cools slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Cools wants to control but Boyko is keeping him busy. Cools tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boyko stuck in half guard on the bottom here. Cools is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Boyko is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Cools trying to control the position but Boyko is working away. Boyko is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Carson Cools comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Cools has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
