The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nogueira Jr looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Smith is fending him off so far but Nogueira Jr persists. Nope, Smith circles away and we're back to standing.
Edwin Nogueira Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith tests Nogueira Jr's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Smith misses with an uppercut.
Nogueira Jr lands a nice looking body kick.
Nogueira Jr fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Smith bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Smith lands a body shot.
Nogueira Jr avoids the body shot from Smith.
Smith throws a looping overhand right but Nogueira Jr ducks down to avoid it.

It looks like Edwin Nogueira Jr has been cut.

Nogueira Jr throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
No joy there for Smith, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Nogueira Jr tries to clinch but Smith is having none of it.
Smith swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Smith throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nogueira Jr.
Smith drops Nogueira Jr with a beautiful combination! Nogueira Jr stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Smith is looking for the KO!
Nogueira Jr slips a jab from Smith.
Nogueira Jr swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Smith counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Nogueira Jr is breathing heavily.

Nogueira Jr throws a combination that misses
and Smith counters with a left to the body.
Smith swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Smith jabs at Nogueira Jr's body.
Smith lands a big right hand that sends Nogueira Jr crashing to the mat! Smith stays standing though and waves Nogueira Jr back to his feet!
Nogueira Jr is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smith feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Nogueira Jr sprawling to the canvas! Nogueira Jr rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Smith finish him?!
Oh Nogueira Jr is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Edwin Nogueira Jr's cut is getting worse.
Smith lands a brutal uppercut that launches Nogueira Jr off his feet! Nogueira Jr tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
