Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Nate Boyce!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Daniel Velazquez!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Richard Clark and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velazquez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Boyce.
Velazquez throws a head kick that misses.
Boyce throws a head kick but Velazquez moves out of range.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Velazquez is defended easily by Boyce.
Boyce misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Velazquez leaves Boyce with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Boyce closes the distance and clinches up with Velazquez, looking for a takedown. Boyce pushes Velazquez against the cage but Velazquez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nate Boyce. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fight stays on the outside here - Velazquez looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boyce fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Boyce scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Boyce tries to clinch there but Velazquez circles away.
Velazquez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Boyce sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

and Velazquez counters with a shoot takedown. Boyce fights it but they end up in guard.
Velazquez advances to half guard.
Boyce is trying to maintain the position but Velazquez is very close to passing his half guard.
Boyce is breathing heavily.
Velazquez in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Boyce tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Velazquez!
