PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Estevan Ledesma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Naolo Chin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ledesma comes to the cage accompanied by Mark Ronson ft Q-Tip - Bang Bang. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Estevan Ledesma!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Naolo Chin!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Roberts and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chin tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Ledesma is able to avoid easily.
Chin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Chin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ledesma misses with a straight right.
Ledesma misses with a takedown attempt - Chin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ledesma wants to clinch.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Chin.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
A big right from Chin misses.
Naolo Chin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Chin throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Chin will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Chin stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Ledesma tests Chin's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Chin lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Ledesma fails with an attempt to clinch.
Chin leaves Ledesma with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Chin wants to slow Ledesma down by chopping away at his legs.
Chin drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Ledesma missing with a left hand there. Chin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Ledesma looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Chin!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Ledesma takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Chin misses with a low kick as Ledesma jumps back.

Ledesma bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Chin is letting Ledesma control him for a moment.

Chin is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ledesma is staying tight to Chin's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Chin managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Ledesma.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Estevan Ledesma just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Ledesma slips a jab and a cross from Chin.
A head kick misses from Chin.
Chin throws a shot from downtown. Ledesma moves away and avoids it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Chin throws an overhand right that lands on Ledesma's shoulder, as Ledesma tries to avoid the shot.
Chin shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Naolo Chin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ledesma lands a nice shot that snaps Chin's head back.


It looks like Naolo Chin has been cut.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Chin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Estevan Ledesma dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Naolo Chin's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Chin doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Chin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Chin leaves Ledesma with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Chin throws a leg kick but Ledesma moved away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chin throws a head kick that misses.
Ledesma throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Chin on the side of the head.
Chin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ledesma.
A jab from Chin does it's job there.
Ledesma wants to clinch up but Chin keeps it at a distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Ledesma shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Chin's guard.
Ledesma controlling from the top position.
Ledesma seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Chin for as long as he can get away with.
Ledesma stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Chin is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Ledesma is pushing down on Chin's leg trying to pass to half guard. Chin is fighting to maintain full guard but Ledesma has managed to sneak the leg through.
Ledesma wants to pass to mount but Chin is defending the position.
Chin is trying to stand back up but Ledesma is controlling him
Still in half guard, Ledesma seems content to control.
Estevan Ledesma is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ledesma wants to pass the guard but Chin is defending well.
Ledesma takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Naolo Chin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ledesma works his way into side control.
Chin being controlled for a moment.

And that's the end of the fight!
Estevan Ledesma showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Ledesma has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
