Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paul Barbalo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sven Monk!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barbalo rushes Monk and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Monk goes for a takedown in the clinch but Barbalo prevents it.
Barbalo lands a knee to the head.
It looks like Sven Monk has been cut.
Monk jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Barbalo walks away with a smile on his face. Monk gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Barbalo leaves Monk with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Paul Barbalo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sven Monk.
Barbalo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Barbalo throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Monk colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Barbalo as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Monk is left battered and dazed whilst Barbalo and his camp cheer!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Paul Barbalo!
