Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Forrest Griffith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jefe Crazy Mexican! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Roberts and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Griffith works Crazy Mexican's body with a nice hook. Crazy Mexican should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Crazy Mexican takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Griffith lands a jab to Crazy Mexican's midsection. Crazy Mexican changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Griffith looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Griffith wants to get back to his feet but Crazy Mexican drags him back down. Crazy Mexican tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Crazy Mexican misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Griffith dodges the ground and pound from Crazy Mexican. Griffith is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Crazy Mexican asserts his dominance and retains side control.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Griffith bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Crazy Mexican's head. Left hook, right uppercut from Griffith. Griffith pushes Crazy Mexican away with a front kick. A right-left combo lands from Griffith.
Crazy Mexican is rocked! Jefe Crazy Mexican seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Griffith lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Crazy Mexican is looking to close the distance but Griffith sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Crazy Mexican crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Crazy Mexican is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Knee). Forrest Griffith!
