Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johann Reckwitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johann Reckwitz acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ricky Pierre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Johann Reckwitz!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pierre is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Reckwitz.
Pierre fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Pierre looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Reckwitz!
Reckwitz is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Pierre tries to push Reckwitz's head away but Reckwitz is holding on tight.
Reckwitz tries to lock up and control but Pierre gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Pierre is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Reckwitz has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Reckwitz is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Reckwitz bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Pierre on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Pierre tries to get out of the position.
Pierre working a defensive guard but Reckwitz manages to pass into side control anyway.
Reckwitz passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Pierre!
Pierre wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pierre is keeping busy.
Reckwitz has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Pierre.

Pierre is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Pierre trying to get back to his feet but Reckwitz is in full control for now.

Reckwitz scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Pierre trying to control but not successfully.
Pierre knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Reckwitz on the ground.
Reckwitz tries to get the hooks in deep but Pierre pushed the leg off.
Reckwitz scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Pierre is looking for a way out.

Pierre can't escape the position.

Reckwitz is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Pierre is breathing heavily.
Pierre holding both Reckwitz 's hands and preventing any damage.
Pierre has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Reckwitz.

Pierre prevents Reckwitz from getting a body triangle.

Reckwitz has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Reckwitz gets his hands free as Pierre looks to control.
Reckwitz is trying to stick to Pierre's back but Pierre is turning into Reckwitz. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Reckwitz's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Pierre.
Pierre has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Reckwitz controls Pierre momentarily but Pierre frees himself.

Reckwitz is working an open guard so Pierre takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johann Reckwitz dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Pierre decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Reckwitz is not content to let Pierre control the position.

Reckwitz looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Pierre trying to control the pace.
Pierre throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Reckwitz wants to control but Pierre is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Reckwitz wants to get back to full guard.

Pierre is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Reckwitz sees it coming and defends easily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Pierre rushes Reckwitz and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Pierre gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Pierre is stalling here. Reckwitz is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Pierre seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Reckwitz has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Pierre tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Reckwitz wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Reckwitz decides to stand back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Pierre has managed to clinch.

Reckwitz gets control of Pierre's arms and successfully pulls guard. Reckwitz will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Reckwitz wants to sweep here but Pierre controlling him for the moment.
Reckwitz is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Pierre wants to pass the guard but Reckwitz is keeping the position.
Johann Reckwitz has got the better of the ground game so far.
Reckwitz wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Reckwitz trying to keep a closed guard but Pierre is proving a slippery customer.

Pierre stands and steps away. Reckwitz gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Pierre fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Reckwitz moves in looking to clinch but Pierre pushes him off.

Pierre shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Reckwitz's guard.
Pierre wants to pass the guard but Reckwitz is keeping the position.
Reckwitz manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pierre manages to get himself to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Pierre pushes Reckwitz off and scrambles back to his feet.
Pierre lands a nice hook to Reckwitz's body. Reckwitz takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Pierre throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Reckwitz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Pierre counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Reckwitz wants to get back to his feet.

Reckwitz looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ricky Pierre dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Reckwitz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Reckwitz doesn't manage to clinch there - Pierre circles away.
Reckwitz misses with a takedown attempt - Pierre sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Pierre has taken the fight to the clinch.

Pierre breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Pierre gets the takedown into side control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Reckwitz is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Pierre asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Pierre working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Pierre is trying to get an arm triangle but Reckwitz is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Reckwitz is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Pierre has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Reckwitz gets back to half guard.
Pierre thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Reckwitz to regain full guard.

Pierre with a flurry of punches that miss.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pierre is stalling in the full guard.
Reckwitz is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Reckwitz keeping full guard, as Pierre tries to pass.
Reckwitz bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pierre's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Reckwitz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pierre swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Reckwitz decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Reckwitz stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Reckwitz wants it to stay on the feet.
Reckwitz tries for a takedown but Pierre circles away easily

and Pierre moves into the clinch.
Pierre blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Pierre successfully pulls guard.
Pierre striking off his back but it's not causing Reckwitz any problems.
Pierre lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Reckwitz!

And that's the end of the fight!
Ricky Pierre showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Pierre has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
