The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
morgan swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Penn avoids the body shot from morgan.

morgan works over Penn's head and body with a nice combination.
morgan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

morgan throws a series of punches but Penn avoids them all with ease.
morgan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Penn throws a sloppy head kick and morgan moves out of range easily.

morgan throws a right hand that Penn ducks under and follows up with a left that Penn also avoids with ease.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

morgan jumps guard but Penn stands there with morgan around his waist. morgan gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on morgan's face as he tries to break the clinch.

morgan lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Penn changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. morgan tries to avoid it but Penn manages to keep hold of a leg and drag morgan to the ground. morgan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
morgan looks to land a combination. Penn sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

and morgan counters with a nice uppercut.

Penn bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Penn decides to stand back up. Penn steps back and let's morgan get back to his feet.
BJ Penn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Penn rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but morgan moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Penn closes the distance and clinches.
morgan is looking to break free of the clinch but Penn has double underhooks.
morgan is trying to drag Penn to the mat but Penn just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

morgan attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
morgan throws a shot from downtown. Penn moves away and avoids it.
Penn clinches up with morgan and pushes him back against the cage.

The fighters circling - Penn throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Penn looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
morgan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and morgan wants it to stay on the feet.
Penn moves out of range of the body kick.
morgan is looking to land body kicks.
Penn closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Penn escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
morgan keeps the fight on the outside.
Penn fails to land with a series of punches.
morgan takes one to the side of the head.
morgan takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
morgan throws a jab when Penn was well out of range.
morgan moves out of range of the leg kick from Penn.

The referee is keeping an eye on Penn - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Penn tries to break free but morgan pushes him back against the cage.

morgan is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Penn gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Penn creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through morgan's defenses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Penn walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now morgan is on top in guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Penn is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by morgan.

and Penn counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

and morgan counters with a big head kick but Penn shrugs it off.

Penn feints and as morgan raises his hands in defense, Penn changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

morgan throws a left and a right that both miss
and Penn decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in morgan's guard.
Penn has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Penn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. morgan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Penn looking to sit in guard and control but morgan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
morgan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Penn works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
morgan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Penn has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, morgan has managed to get both his arms back between Penn's legs - danger averted.

morgan leaves Penn with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Penn shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says morgan as he avoids it easily.
Penn lands a nice hook to morgan's body. morgan takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Penn throws a right and a left that both miss.

morgan tries to break free but Penn pushes him back against the cage.
Penn's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
morgan swings and misses with a hook to the body.

morgan creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
