Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Withrow! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ceaser Sarney! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A solid body kick from Withrow. Withrow throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Withrow moves out of range as Sarney strikes. Sarney throws a hook but Withrow avoids it easily. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Withrow, right into the meat.
Withrow misses with a two punch combination.
Withrow keeps Sarney at a distance using the push kick. Withrow uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sarney. Sarney swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Withrow counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Sarney! Sarney tries to improve his position but instead Withrow has taken his back! Sarney defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
I really don't envy Sarney right now.
Withrow working for a choke but Sarney is defending well. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Withrow keeps control of the position as Sarney tries to break free.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Withrow is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Sarney is defending well though. Withrow let's go of the attempt for now. Sarney grimaces as he takes a shot to the body. Withrow looking to break Sarney's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Sarney remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Withrow will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Withrow working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Sarney really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Withrow. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Withrow doesn't have the hooks in and Sarney manages to turn into his guard.
Sarney thows a big elbow that misses. Withrow is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sarney is aware though and is defending well. Sarney wants to stand but Withrow has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Withrow working for a triangle but Sarney defends it easily.
Withrow is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sarney would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Withrow is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Sarney frees his head nicely. Oh but Withrow has switched to an armbar! Sarney is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
