PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between long attack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Delphine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, long attack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Danny Delphine!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Shimada and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Delphine with that takedown attempt.
attack is trying hard to land a takedown here. Delphine sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
attack circles away from the clinch attempt.
attack tries for a takedown but Delphine sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
attack tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Delphine paws at him with a jab and circles away.
attack throws a sloppy head kick and Delphine moves out of range easily.
Delphine shoots in but no luck this time.
attack tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
attack tries to bum rush Delphine with a series of wild strikes but Delphine uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
attack fails with the takedown

and Delphine counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for long attack. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Delphine decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on attack, up you get!

attack looks to score with a jab to the body but Delphine is just out of range.
attack tries for a takedown but Delphine circles away easily

and Delphine counters with a nice double leg into guard.
attack is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Delphine decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Delphine avoids a kick to the body.
attack shoots and misses

and Delphine counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Still in half guard, Delphine seems content to control.
attack has hold of Delphine's hands but Delphine slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
attack is breathing heavily.

Nice strikes from Delphine there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Delphine uses his free foot to push down on attack's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for attack.
Delphine lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

attack knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Delphine on the ground.
Delphine looking to control but attack is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Delphine is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, attack has managed to escape the submission attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Delphine goes for an armbar but he's not got it… attack turns into him and now he's in Delphine's guard.

Delphine wants to get back to his feet but attack is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Delphine had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. attack defends it easily.

Delphine is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and attack defends well.
Delphine keeping moving, preventing attack from controlling successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Delphine working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. attack doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. attack manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Delphine looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
attack trying to stand up but can't free himself from Delphine's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

attack has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Delphine working for a triangle but attack defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Danny Delphine dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Delphine is thwarting attack's attempts to control the position.
attack is staying active underneath Delphine, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
attack is looking to improve his position.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Delphine is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Delphine connects with a nice short shot to attack's temple.
Delphine is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
attack can't escape the position.
The referee warns attack that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Delphine looking to control but attack is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Delphine swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and attack is now in Delphine's guard. A big mistake from Delphine there, giving up the dominant position!
Delphine controls attack momentarily but attack frees himself.

Delphine is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Delphine is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and attack defends well.

Delphine is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
attack shoots in looking for a takedown. Delphine tries to sprawl out of it but attack keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Delphine manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Delphine maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! attack could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Delphine has cracked it and attack is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Delphine!
