Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ilya Anisim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hank Hardwick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardwick fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Anisim sprawls well initially but Hardwick persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Anisim looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Anisim is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hardwick has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Hardwick shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Anisim's guard.

and Hardwick decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Anisim's guard.
Hardwick slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Anisim escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hardwick gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Despite being in the dominant position, Hank Hardwick just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hardwick stands up and beckons Anisim to join him on the feet.
Anisim clinches but Hardwick breaks the clinch
and Hardwick counters with a single leg into guard. Anisim didn't expect that.
Anisim is working an open guard so Hardwick takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Anisim is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hardwick trying to control but Anisim is having none of it.

Hank Hardwick showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Anisim's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Hardwick feints and as Anisim raises his hands in defense, Hardwick changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hardwick tries to free his leg and advance position but Anisim is retaining full guard.
Anisim throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Hardwick escapes and throws Anisim's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Anisim manages to work his way to half guard, despite Hardwick's best efforts.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Hardwick is controlling the pace.
Anisim has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hardwick is working away from the top position though.
Hardwick is taking a breather. Anisim says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ground and pound from Hardwick.
Anisim won't allow Hardwick to pass to mount.
Hardwick stalling.
Hardwick uses his free foot to push down on Anisim's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Anisim.
Hardwick has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Hardwick has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Anisim is trying to keep an underhook but Hardwick manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Well Hardwick has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
