PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Harry Porco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lance Nixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Porco has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Lance Nixon has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nixon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Porco's waist but Porco gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nixon off to one side.
Nixon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Porco sprawls well. Porco wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nixon gets slowly back to his feet.
Porco throws a looping overhand right but Nixon ducks down to avoid it.
Nixon shoots for a takedown but Porco saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Harry Porco has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lance Nixon.
Porco throws a right hand that Nixon ducks under and follows up with a left that Nixon also avoids with ease.
Porco misses with the combination.
Porco connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Nixon looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Porco is breathing heavily.
Nixon missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Porco is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Nixon scores with a couple of nice shots.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nixon wants to free his trapped foot but Porco is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Nixon is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Nixon thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Porco's head.
Nixon is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Nixon in particular looking to stall.
Porco pushes Nixon off looking to stand but Nixon dives back in and keeps control.

Nixon is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Nixon passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Porco!

Nixon has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Nixon lands a big shot there that rocks Porco but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Porco tries to hold on but Nixon postures up.
Nixon is landing with some decent strikes but Porco is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Porco is looking to improve his position but Nixon isn't that keen on the idea.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Nixon lands a heavy elbow.

Porco has left one of his arms exposed and Nixon doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Porco screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
