Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dan Hernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julius Peppers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peppers comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Day N Nite-Kid Cudi kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Dan Hernandez had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dan Hernandez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Julius Peppers!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Lou da Vinci and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peppers misses with a wild combination.
A jab lands there for Hernandez.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Peppers.
Peppers shoots for a double leg takedown but Hernandez sprawls well. He's pushed Peppers's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hernandez uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Peppers tries to score with a low kick but Hernandez moves his leg out of the way.
Hernandez blocks a head kick by Peppers.
Hernandez swings and misses with a hook to the body.

and Peppers counters with an outside leg kick.
Hernandez throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Peppers changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hernandez tries to avoid it but Peppers manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hernandez to the ground. Hernandez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A slow jab from Hernandez misses its intended target.
Hernandez connects with a right hand. Peppers shakes it off.
Hernandez cracks Peppers with a right hand to the side of the head.
Peppers walks into a stiff left hand from Hernandez.
Hernandez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hernandez thows a body shot but no joy.
Peppers takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Peppers pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A nice leg kick lands there from Peppers.
Peppers throws a half hearted mid kick.

Peppers lands with a kick to the ribs.
Peppers fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Hernandez checks it well.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Peppers.
Hernandez has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

and Peppers counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Peppers wants to control from the top but Hernandez keeps moving.
Peppers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hernandez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Peppers working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Hernandez's head.

Hernandez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Hernandez is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Peppers is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Peppers wants to control the pace but Hernandez is squirming around nicely.

Hernandez is squirming around, avoiding Peppers's attempts to control the action.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Let's hope that Peppers has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Julius Peppers comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Peppers has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
