Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Hartin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eric Hartin!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A good leg kick by Hartin.
Carter jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Hartin is looking to clinch.
Hartin pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Carter misses the shot to the body.

Hartin shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Carter napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Hartin throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Carter pushes Hartin away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hartin gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Hartin taking a breather here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carter is trying to buck Hartin off.

Hartin decides to stand back up.
Hartin defending well as Carter loads up on a big left hand.
Hartin lands with a right hand.


It looks like Matt Carter has been cut.
Carter is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hartin has managed to clinch.

Hartin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Hartin forces Carter back against the cage and clinches.

Hartin tightens his grip and picks Carter up, before dumping him to the ground. Carter manages to land in guard.
Hartin throwing strikes but missing.
Carter has a closed guard, preventing Hartin from standing up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hartin passes into half guard.
Hartin tries to pass to full mount but Carter defends it.
Carter taking some punishment here, with Hartin in his half guard.
Hartin drops an elbow to the side of Carter's head.
Carter is trying to stand.
Hartin slows the pace down in half guard.
Carter has hold of Hartin's hands but Hartin slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Carter keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Hartin seems to be working for a kimura but Carter defends the submission attempt.

Hartin decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hartin uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Carter has time to react.
A head kick from Hartin lands but Carter takes it in his stride.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hartin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Carter's guard.
Hartin is working Carter over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Hartin wants to control from the top but Carter keeps moving.
Hartin advances to half guard.
Hartin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Hartin is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Carter on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Carter tries to get out of the position.
Hartin stalling.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hartin lands a nice short elbow.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Carter is trying to control but can't.
Carter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hartin on the ground.
Carter on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Hartin wants to take a breather but Carter is having none of it.
Hartin passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Carter!
Hartin lands a nice shot to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hartin controlling from the full mount.
Hartin raining down shots from the mount!
Hartin landing strikes, looking to finish!
Carter is in a horrible position here. Hartin smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Hartin connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hartin lands with some strikes.
Hartin breaks from Carter's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The referee warns Carter that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Hartin has isolated one of Carter's arms. Carter looking to fight him off but Hartin twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Eric Hartin!
