Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Robson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Giani Suarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Giani Suarez will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Giani Suarez!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Steve Montenegro and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robson takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Suarez throws a right and a left that both miss.

Robson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Robson throws a solid leg kick but Suarez takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Robson.

Robson tightens his grip and picks Suarez up, before dumping him to the ground. Suarez manages to land in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Suarez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Robson circles away.
Gabriel Robson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Giani Suarez.

Robson moves into the clinch.
Suarez has Robson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Robson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Robson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Robson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Suarez can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

That was a close round but I would say that Gabriel Robson will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Robson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Suarez can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
You get the feeling that Suarez really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Robson cracks Suarez with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Robson is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Suarez to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Suarez shrugs it off.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Suarez swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Robson counters with a three punch combo that has Suarez backing up. Suarez nods at Robson to acknowledge the strikes.
Robson tries to close the distance and clinch but Suarez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Suarez scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Suarez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Suarez fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Robson sprawls well initially but Suarez persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Robson is pressing down on Suarez's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Robson is looking to sinch up a triangle. Suarez throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Robson's body to avoid the submission. Robson has instead reached around Suarez's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Robson arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
