The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adams tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dre paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Adams counters with a takedown into side control.

Adams is trying to get an arm triangle but Dre is defending well.

Adams wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dre, who protects the arm well.
Dre tries to escape but Adams is in control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Dre swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Adams counters with a one-two to the body.

Adams moves out of range as Dre throws a body kick.
Adams dodges the punch combination from Dre.
Dre throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Adams shoots in looking for a takedown. Dre tries to sprawl out of it but Adams keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dre manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Dre wants to clinch up but Adams keeps it at a distance.

Dre's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Adams fails to land the takedown.
Dre wants to clinch up but Adams keeps it at a distance.
Dre moves out of range of the strikes.
Dre misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Dre tries to close the distance and clinch up but Adams swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Dre lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

It looks like John Adams has been cut.
John Adams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Adams wants to clinch but Dre slips to the side
and Dre counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Adams is rocked!
Dre fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Adams loses concentration momentarily and Dre pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Adams crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Dre finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
