Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simpson fails to land the takedown.
Simpson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gilbert looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Simpson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Gilbert tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Simpson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Simpson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Gilbert is now in Simpson's guard. A big mistake from Simpson there, giving up the dominant position!

Gilbert stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Simpson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Simpson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Gilbert smiles and moves away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Simpson.
Simpson feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Gilbert sprawling to the canvas! Gilbert rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Simpson finish him?!

and Gilbert counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Simpson!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Simpson tries to pull guard but Gilbert holds him up against the cage and eventually Simpson drops back down to his feet.

Gilbert has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Simpson to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Gilbert is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Simpson pulls down on the head and he's put Gilbert to sleep! This one is all over!
