Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wes Wolfen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wes Wolfen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jorge Rua! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Wes Wolfen! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Daniel Cesar and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rua closes the distance and clinches up with Wolfen, looking for a takedown. Rua pushes Wolfen against the cage but Wolfen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Wolfen stuffs the takedown attempt from Rua. Rua gets slowly back to his feet. Wolfen displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rua. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jorge Rua. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rua shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wolfen sprawls well. Wolfen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rua gets slowly back to his feet. Rua misses with a takedown attempt - Wolfen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Rua fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Rua fails to land the takedown. Wolfen misses with a jab, cross combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wolfen jabs Rua right on the nose. Rua blinks but takes it well. Wolfen throws a body punch but Rua moves out of range. Rua shoots for a takedown but Wolfen saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Wolfen bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Wolfen throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rua stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Rua is breathing heavily. Rua looking for a takedown here - he's got it. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rua stopping the sweep attempt from Wolfen. Wolfen is pulling down on Rua's head. It's preventing any offense from Rua, at least for the moment. Wolfen keeping moving, preventing Rua from controlling successfully. Wolfen lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Rua! Wolfen looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. You get the feeling that Rua really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Wolfen tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Rua really wants to buck Wolfen off and get back to his feet. Wolfen wants to control the pace but Rua is squirming around nicely. Rua is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Rua is trying to stand up. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Wolfen controlling the pace for now. Wolfen's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Rua is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Wolfen controlling his opponent. Rua is trying to stand. Wolfen looking to control and managing it successfully.
Despite being in the dominant position, Wes Wolfen just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Wolfen lands a nice hook to Rua's body. Rua takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Rua shoots in for a takedown but Wolfen shows good takedown defense. Wes Wolfen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Wolfen throws a series of strikes that have Rua backpedaling.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wes Wolfen dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Rua fails with a takedown attempt. Rua fails with a takedown attempt. Wolfen throws out a powerful jab. Rua shoots in and bounces Wolfen off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Rua stands and throws Wolfen's legs to the side, diving into side control. Rua tries to advance to mount but Wolfen instead regains half guard. Wolfen is concentrating on defense, preventing Rua from advancing position. The fighters are battling for position here. Wolfen manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Wolfen keeping moving, preventing Rua from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wolfen wants to stand but Rua is controlling the position. Rua stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wolfen swivels though and keeps the full guard. Wolfen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rua manages to get himself to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Rua is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Rua uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Wolfen throws a series of strikes that have Rua backpedaling.
The fighters circle momentarily. Wolfen darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Rua shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Wolfen defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jorge Rua. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wolfen lands with a shot to the body. Rua is trying hard to land a takedown here. Wolfen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Jorge Rua is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Rua walks into a jab. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Wolfen!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wolfen connects with a crisp jab. Wolfen slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Nice takedown defense from Wolfen. No joy for Rua on that attempt. Wolfen throws a good cross that connects.
Wolfen will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Oh Rua is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Wolfen connects with a picture perfect right hand that knocks Rua out cold! This one is over in a flash!
