Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bobby Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rex Garris!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johnson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Garris napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Garris is trying to control Johnson's posture but Johnson avoids it.
Garris sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Garris is refusing to be controlled, as Johnson sits in half guard.
Johnson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Garris knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Johnson trying to control from half guard but Garris is working away.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Johnson gets the takedown into side control.
Garris tries to improve position but can't.
Johnson wants to control but Garris is keeping him busy.
Garris is trying to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Johnson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Garris keeps working.
Johnson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Johnson wants to control but Garris is keeping him busy.

Johnson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Johnson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Johnson swings around for an armbar but Garris sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Johnson's guard.
Johnson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Garris passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Garris is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Johnson's shoulder. That is not cool.
Garris fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Garris tries to move to mount but Johnson blocks the move with his legs.
An elbow from Garris crashes against the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Garris as he avoids it easily.
Garris shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

so Johnson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Johnson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Garris keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnson passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Johnson is looking to take a break and control but Garris is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Johnson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Garris has escaped the position, nice work there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
You can see the frustration on Garris's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Garris regains half guard there - taking advantage of Johnson's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Garris is looking for a sweep. Johnson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Garris has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Johnson is working away from the top position though.
Garris moves into full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Johnson wants to control from the top but Garris keeps moving.
Garris trying to control the position.
Johnson trying to control the position from guard on top but Garris is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Garris is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Johnson trying to control the position from guard on top but Garris is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Johnson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Garris is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Garris gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Johnson counters with a shoot takedown. Garris fights it but they end up in guard.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Bobby Johnson just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Garris gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Johnson to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Garris uses the cage to get back to his feet.

and Johnson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Johnson is trying to control the action in half guard but Garris is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Garris actively working from the bottom here.
Garris takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Garris is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Johnson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Johnson stops Garris from getting back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Johnson wants to take a breather but Garris is having none of it.
Johnson works his way into full mount!
Johnson tries to control but Garris wriggling away.
Garris wants to control but Johnson is having none of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Garris is trying to escape the mount.
Garris is trying to stand but he's just given Johnson his back.
Johnson tries to get the hooks in deep but Garris pushed the leg off.
Johnson has good solid back control here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Garris staying busy and making it hard for Johnson to control.

Johnson working for a choke but Garris is defending well.
You can see the frustration on Garris's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bobby Johnson showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Johnson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
