Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Savinay Pillavino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pillavino comes to the cage accompanied by Tere Bina. John Peters is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Savinay Pillavino! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Peters! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peters moves away from the strike by Pillavino. Pillavino misses with a series of wild punches.
Peters closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Pillavino looks to land a left hand but Peters moved out of range nicely. Pillavino throws a combination. Peters tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Peters shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pillavino as he jumps to the side. Peters slips under a jab from Pillavino. Pillavino thows a left - swing and a miss! Excellent takedown into side control there by Pillavino. You can see the frustration on Peters's face as Pillavino controls the position. Peters is trying to improve his position. Pillavino tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peters manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Peters is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Pillavino reverses the position - he's now on top in Peters's guard. Pillavino throwing strikes but missing. Peters manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pillavino manages to get himself to full guard.
Peters has gone for a leg lock! Pillavino slips out almost immediately though and dives into Peters's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pillavino with a flurry of punches that miss. Peters preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Pillavino wants to control from the top but Peters keeps moving. Peters had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pillavino defends it easily. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Pillavino pushing down on Peters's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Pillavino seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Peters does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pillavino trying to mount his opponent but Peters defends it. Peters keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Peters is trying to stand back up but Pillavino is controlling him
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Peters regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Pillavino. Peters looking for a sweep. Not yet Peters, not yet. Pillavino has gone for a leg lock! Peters slips out almost immediately though and dives into Pillavino's guard. Pillavino keeping full guard, as Peters tries to pass.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Peters forces his way into half guard. Peters is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Pillavino has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Peters is working away from the top position though. Peters is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Peters looking to pass the guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Savinay Pillavino dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Peters gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Pillavino counters with a one-two to the body. Pillavino swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Pillavino throws the left hand but Peters avoids the punch easily. Pillavino leaves Peters with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Peters fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Peters shoots in for a takedown but Pillavino shows good takedown defense. Savinay Pillavino has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Peters. Peters needs to keep his hands up - Pillavino had a free shot at his head there. Peters takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Pillavino throws a hook but Peters blocks it. Pillavino shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Peters sprawls well. Peters wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pillavino gets slowly back to his feet. Pillavino throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pillavino cracks Peters with a good jab. Pillavino misses with a double jab.
Pillavino misses with a few strikes there.
Pillavino swings and misses with a hook to the body.
The fighters circling - Pillavino throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Pillavino lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Peters drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Peters is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pillavino is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Pillavino tries to bench press Peters off him but Peters keeps the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Pillavino's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Peters tries for a kimura but Pillavino is defending well. Peters swings around for an armbar but Pillavino sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Peters's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pillavino accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Pillavino trying to control the position from guard on top but Peters is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pillavino drops back looking for a leg! Peters is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Peters manages to kick Pillavino off! Pillavino jumps back into Peters's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pillavino throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Peters works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. A head kick misses from Peters. Pillavino throws a left and a right that both miss
and Peters counters with a single leg into guard. Pillavino didn't expect that. Peters stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pillavino swivels though and keeps the full guard. Pillavino manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Peters can't escape the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Peters blocking the ground and pound. Pillavino can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Peters is looking to escape. Pillavino goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Peters is on top in guard.
Peters trying to move into half guard but instead Pillavino has managed to sweep! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Peters manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Savinay Pillavino will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Peters fails with a takedown attempt. Pillavino tries to score a power double leg takedown but Peters sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pillavino somewhat. Peters misses with a takedown and Pillavino counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Pillavino scores with a jab to the jaw. Pillavino connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Pillavino throws a shot from downtown. Peters moves away and avoids it. A telegraphed right hand from Pillavino misses the target. Pillavino is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Pillavino misses the shot to the body. Peters looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pillavino is fending him off so far but Peters persists. Nope, Pillavino circles away and we're back to standing. Savinay Pillavino has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Peters. Peters takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Pillavino missing with a left hand there. Peters was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Peters shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Pillavino is looking to control Peters's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pillavino avoid being mounted? Peters tries to pass to full mount but Pillavino defends it. Pillavino keeping control of the position. Peters passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Pillavino!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Peters is trying to take his opponent's back.
Peters is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Pillavino has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Pillavino! Pillavino wants to pass the guard but Peters is keeping the position. John Peters has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peters working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Pillavino. Pillavino drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Peters manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Pillavino has Peters in his guard. Peters with a flurry of punches that miss. Peters wants to pass the guard but Pillavino is keeping the position. Peters must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Pillavino looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Pillavino manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Savinay Pillavino. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pillavino, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
