Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bertie Bassett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ste Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Morgan's choice of entrance music: Bloodbrawl. Ste Morgan has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Bertie Bassett's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ste Morgan!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Glass and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morgan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bassett as he avoids it easily.
Morgan tries to clinch up but Bassett circles away and keeps his distance.
Morgan tries to close the distance and clinch but Bassett swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Bassett changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Morgan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Bassett is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Morgan has escaped the position, nice work there.
Morgan is trying to improve his position.
Bassett could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Bassett is staying tight to Morgan's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Morgan throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.

The referee asks Bassett politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Bassett prefers to stall for the moment though.
Morgan is trying to control Bassett's posture but Bassett avoids it.

Bassett goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Morgan has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Bassett but great work by Morgan.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Bassett moves out of range of the leg kick from Morgan.
Morgan throws a low kick but Bassett avoids it.
Morgan fails in his attempt to clinch.

Morgan looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bertie Bassett will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Morgan tries to stand but Bassett controls the position and pulls Morgan into his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bassett is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Morgan throws and elbow that misses. Bassett uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Morgan's guard. Nice move by Bassett!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Bassett takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Morgan tries for a takedown but Bassett circles away easily
and Bassett connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Morgan fails to land the takedown.

Ste Morgan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Bassett is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Morgan looking to sit in guard and control but Bassett gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Morgan keeping moving, preventing Bassett from controlling successfully.

A looping hook to the body misses from Morgan. Bassett does a little dance to reset his feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Bassett misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Morgan.

Morgan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Bertie Bassett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ste Morgan.

I would just about give that final round to Ste Morgan.
I think Morgan has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
