Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cesar Anders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Tavares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tavares has chosen Swedish House Mafia - One as his entrance music. Max Tavares is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cesar Anders!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Max Tavares!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Daniel Cesar and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anders throws a nice looking combination but Tavares bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Tavares tries to close the distance and clinch up but Anders swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Tavares lands a nice leg kick that just misses Anders's sensitive parts.
Tavares is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Anders clinches with his opponent.
Tavares manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Tavares keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Anders's efforts to push away.
Tavares is looking to break free of the clinch but Anders has double underhooks.
Tavares lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Anders pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Tavares misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Anders shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Anders was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Anders trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Tavares really wants to buck Anders off and get back to his feet.
Anders is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Tavares really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Anders. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Anders fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Anders cracks Tavares with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Tavares wants to use the ropes to get back to his feet here.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Anders is landing with some decent strikes but Tavares is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Anders lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Anders is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Tavares can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Tavares is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Anders is working for a guillotine from mount but Tavares frees his head quite easily.

Tavares's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Anders is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Tavares can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Anders is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Tavares to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Tavares shrugs it off.
Tavares is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Anders cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Anders breaks from Tavares's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Anders tries to control but Tavares wriggling away.
Tavares is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cesar Anders dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Anders looks for a takedown but Tavares sprawls well.
Tavares is looking to chop away at Anders's legs.
Tavares throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Anders stalks Tavares and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Tavares's face. Tavares staggers backwards, shaken.
Tavares looks to clinch

and Anders counters with a single leg into guard. Tavares didn't expect that.
Anders with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Anders drops back looking for a leg! Tavares is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tavares manages to kick Anders off! Anders jumps back into Tavares's guard.
Anders throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tavares works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Tavares keeping moving, preventing Anders from controlling successfully.
Anders won't allow Tavares to get back to his feet.
Anders lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Anders is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Tavares wants to stand but Anders is controlling the position.

Anders won't allow Tavares to get back to his feet.
Cesar Anders overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Anders lands a couple of elbows.

Anders drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Anders as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Tavares screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Anders! Nice submission victory there!
