Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ross Dollar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Riccardo Rodriguez! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Colin Fotheringham and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rodriguez tries to clinch there but Dollar circles away.
Rodriguez misses with an attempted mid kick.
Rodriguez looks to throw the jab but Dollar is out of range. Dollar takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Rodriguez lets loose with a powerful body kick. Dollar will feel that in the morning. Dollar shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Rodriguez kicks Dollar off and gets back to his feet. Dollar looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Rodriguez! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rodriguez is in all sorts of trouble here.
Dollar landing punches. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Rodriguez really wants to buck Dollar off and get back to his feet. Dollar scoring with strikes but Rodriguez is staying in there. Dollar working the ground and pound effectively.
Rodriguez tries to lock up and control but Dollar gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Dollar is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Rodriguez is surviving well by controlling Dollar's body position as best he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dollar lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Rodriguez is looking to improve his position but Dollar isn't that keen on the idea. Dollar lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Dollar is breathing heavily. Rodriguez tries to hold on but Dollar pushes him away. Rodriguez is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dollar avoids the attempt from Rodriguez to control. Dollar raining down shots from the mount! Rodriguez sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rodriguez manages to get to full guard.
Rodriguez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Dollar wants to control from the top but Rodriguez keeps moving. Dollar trying to stand up but can't free himself from Rodriguez's guard. Rodriguez controls Dollar momentarily but Dollar frees himself. Rodriguez looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Dollar has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Rodriguez to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Dollar is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Rodriguez pulls down on the head and he's put Dollar to sleep! This one is all over!
