Virtanen throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ruggiero takes a kick to the side of the head.
A lazy left from Virtanen finds it's target.
An inside leg kick lands from Virtanen.
Virtanen pushes Ruggiero away with a front kick.
Ruggiero avoids the head kick by Virtanen.
A nice inside leg kick there by Virtanen. That's going to slow Ruggiero down.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Virtanen - that will leave a mark!
A decent looking cross lands there for Virtanen.

Virtanen fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Ruggiero.
Virtanen lands with a thumping leg kick.
Virtanen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ruggiero paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Virtanen is looking to slow Ruggiero down with leg kicks.
Virtanen moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Ruggiero's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Virtanen wants to clinch up but Ruggiero keeps it at a distance.
Virtanen thumps Ruggiero with a low kick.
Virtanen connects with a high kick.
Ruggiero is rocked!
Virtanen cracks Ruggiero with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Ruggiero tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Virtanen pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Ruggiero is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Elias Virtanen!
