The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McRriot Jr looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Swindon is fending him off so far but McRriot Jr persists. Nope, Swindon circles away and we're back to standing. McRriot Jr throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Swindon slips a jab and a cross from McRriot Jr.
McRriot Jr fails to land with a series of punches.
McRriot Jr stalks Swindon and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Swindon's face. Swindon staggers backwards, shaken. McRriot Jr ducks under a wild hook from Swindon. McRriot Jr tries to clinch up. McRriot Jr shoots in but Swindon avoids the takedown attempt easily. Swindon drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Swindon stands up and beckons McRriot Jr to his feet. McRriot Jr moves out of range as Swindon strikes. McRriot Jr has his takedown stuffed and Swindon counters with a nice double leg into side control. McRriot Jr won't be happy with that. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max McRriot Jr. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Swindon tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Swindon has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Swindon works to advance to full mount. McRriot Jr defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Swindon working away from the top, dropping strikes. McRriot Jr tries to get back to half guard but can't. Swindon working for a submission but McRriot Jr is keeping him at bay. McRriot Jr is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Swindon controlling from the full mount. Swindon fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Swindon looks gassed! Swindon goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now McRriot Jr is on top in guard.
Swindon has his foot on McRriot Jr's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McRriot Jr works his way back into a safe position though. McRriot Jr postures up in Swindon's guard and throws a big left but Swindon blocks it. Swindon manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

McRriot Jr has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Swindon is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. McRriot Jr knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften McRriot Jr for a finish. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! McRriot Jr trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Swindon looking for the choke but no joy. McRriot Jr is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Swindon has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Can McRriot Jr hold on?! Swindon is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Well, with Swindon on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before McRriot Jr is tapping out... Can he escape the position? McRriot Jr holding both Swindon 's hands and preventing any damage. Swindon is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. McRriot Jr has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Swindon has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! McRriot Jr taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Swindon doesn't care though - he's delighted!
