The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yamashita bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Romeo's head. Yamashita lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Romeo at a distance.
Yamashita punishes Romeo's body with a nice straight punch. Yamashita throws a good cross that connects.
Yamashita lands with a shot to the body. Yamashita displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Romeo. Yamashita swings for the body but Romeo moves out of range.
Yamashita just misses with a punch to the body.
Yamashita misses the shot to the body. Yamashita connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Romeo momentarily.
Yamashita keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Yamashita is looking to wear down Romeo with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. No luck for Romeo with that takedown attempt. Tadashi Yamashita has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Terence Romeo. Yamashita lands a slapping body shot.
Romeo looks gassed! A left lands for Yamashita. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Yamashita misses the shot to the body. A shot to the liver by Yamashita. Beautiful body shot. Yamashita lands with a shot to the body. Romeo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Yamashita but Yamashita pushes him off and we're back to square one. Yamashita connects with a right hand. Romeo shakes it off. Yamashita scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Yamashita clobbers Romeo with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
It looks like Terence Romeo has been cut. Yamashita lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Romeo at a distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yamashita changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Yamashita jabs at Romeo's body. Yamashita fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Yamashita scores with a hook to the body. Romeo takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Yamashita connects with a body shot. Yamashita takes a swing at Romeo's ribcage but misses. Romeo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Romeo takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Yamashita changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Romeo takes a body punch but keeps moving. Yamashita digs a good hook to Romeo's body.
A left lands for Yamashita. Yamashita's corner calls for a 1-2. Yamashita obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Yamashita jabs at Romeo's body. Romeo is trying desperately to land a takedown but Yamashita is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Romeo. Yamashita connects with a looping right hand.
Yamashita ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Yamashita digs a good hook to Romeo's body.
Romeo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Yamashita is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Romeo tries for a takedown but Yamashita sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Romeo takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Romeo walks into a straight right hand from Yamashita.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yamashita throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Romeo stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Yamashita lands a nice hook to Romeo's body. Romeo takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Romeo with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Yamashita to score with a decent uppercut.
Romeo is rocked! Yamashita throws an overhand right that drops Romeo like a sack of potatoes! Yamashita dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
