Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Emanuel Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Dudley!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Summer Carpenter and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dudley tries to close the distance and clinch up but Diaz swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Diaz is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Dudley's half guard.
Diaz not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Diaz prevents Dudley from standing back up.
The fighters are battling for position here. Dudley manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Dudley has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Diaz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Diaz has gone for a leg lock! Dudley slips out almost immediately though and dives into Diaz's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Diaz is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Diaz is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Dudley has managed to free his arm - good work.
Dudley throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Diaz manages to pass to side control.

Diaz tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dudley swivels and escapes.
Horrible takedown by Diaz or perhaps it was just good defense by Dudley which made him look bad.
Diaz closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dudley circles away.

Dudley sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Dudley jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Diaz is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Diaz and Dudley has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Diaz manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Dudley keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Diaz moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Dudley has worked his arm free - good work by Dudley!

Diaz swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Dudley is now in Diaz's guard. A big mistake from Diaz there, giving up the dominant position!
Dudley wants to stand and escape but instead Diaz has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Dudley is staying active underneath Diaz, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Diaz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Diaz sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Dudley's guard.

Diaz is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dudley defends it well.

and Dudley counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Diaz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dudley defends it easily.

Dudley got a little sloppy there for a moment and Diaz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dudley has managed to get both his arms back between Diaz's legs - danger averted.

Dudley wants to stand but Diaz has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Diaz is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Diaz tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Diaz will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Diaz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dudley gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Dudley wants to pass the guard but Diaz is keeping the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Dudley would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

I would just about give that final round to Joe Dudley.
