The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
El Capitan is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Nice body punch from El Capitan.
Deschain throws a combination but it was largely blocked by El Capitan.
Deschain goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Jack El Capitan has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
El Capitan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Deschain moves away.
Deschain tries to score a power double leg takedown but El Capitan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Deschain somewhat.
Jack El Capitan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Deschain has a takedown stuffed.

El Capitan shoots in and bounces Deschain off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Deschain trying to keep a closed guard but El Capitan is proving a slippery customer.
Deschain looking to hit a scissor sweep but El Capitan is one step ahead there.

El Capitan stays in close to Deschain's body and controls the position.

El Capitan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

El Capitan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Deschain has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, El Capitan has managed to get both his arms back between Deschain's legs - danger averted.
El Capitan throws a strike but Deschain rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Deschain wants to control from the top but El Capitan keeps moving.
El Capitan is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
El Capitan manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Deschain is trying desperately to improve position.
Deschain is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
El Capitan can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Deschain is looking to escape.

El Capitan is landing with some decent strikes but Deschain is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

El Capitan pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Oooooh, big shot lands for El Capitan! Deschain is hurt baaadly! El Capitan is firing away with more strikes - Deschain is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
