Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Plank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shaw kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Shangri-La. John Shaw has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, John Shaw! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Plank! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Plank ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Plank wants to clinch. Shaw takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Plank misses the shot to the body. Shaw misses with a takedown attempt - Plank sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Plank fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shaw manages to avoid it. Shaw shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
It looks like John Shaw has been cut. Shaw scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Shaw shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Plank manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Plank wants to stand up but Shaw is controlling him. Plank striking off his back but it's not causing Shaw any problems. Shaw sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Plank's guard. Plank keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Shaw trying to pass the guard but Plank defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Plank wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shaw uses his free foot to push down on Plank's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Plank. Shaw scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Plank is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Shaw has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Plank's face.
Shaw blocks Plank's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Shaw has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Shaw lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Plank really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Shaw looking to finish Plank with some ground and pound. This is bad for Plank! Shaw lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Plank hang on? Shaw is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Plank can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Plank is rocked! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Shaw cracks Plank with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Shaw!
