Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Max Talbot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roberto Carlos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Max Talbot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roberto Carlos!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Bruno Lombardi and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Talbot fails to land the takedown.
Nice body punch from Carlos.
The fighters circling - Carlos throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Carlos misses with a wild body shot.

Talbot closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Carlos looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Talbot trying to pass the guard but Carlos defending well.
Talbot trying to control from half guard but Carlos is working away.
Carlos gets full guard.
Carlos wants to improve his position but instead Talbot has moved into half guard.
Carlos wants to control but Talbot is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Talbot passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Carlos is looking to reverse the position.

Talbot decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Talbot misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Carlos gets a takedown into half guard.
Talbot is breathing heavily.
It looks like Carlos is going to stand back up.

Carlos wants to control but Talbot is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carlos tries to stand but can't do so whilst Talbot controls his leg.
Talbot is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Carlos is nestled in close to Talbot, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Carlos passes the guard and advances to mount!

Carlos prevents Talbot from getting the reversal.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Carlos misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Carlos can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Talbot is looking to escape.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Carlos breaks from Talbot's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Talbot is working to get back to half guard.
Carlos lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Talbot hang on?

A left and a right from Carlos both land. Nice combination.

Carlos ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Talbot moves away.
Carlos shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Carlos tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Talbot paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Carlos. Talbot shrugs it off though.

Carlos shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Carlos showed some decent athleticism there.
Carlos is trying to control the action in half guard but Talbot is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Talbot wants to improve his position but Carlos is controlling well.
Carlos is stalling here. Talbot is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Carlos seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Talbot has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Carlos tries to reverse the position but Talbot maintains control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Carlos is landing with some decent strikes but Talbot is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Carlos cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Carlos can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Talbot is looking to escape.

Carlos wants to control but instead Talbot manages to regain half guard.
Talbot trying to hold on to Carlos's head to control him but Carlos postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carlos wants to take a breather but Talbot is having none of it.
Talbot wants to improve his position but Carlos is controlling well.

Carlos looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Talbot with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Carlos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Talbot. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roberto Carlos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Talbot tries for a takedown but Carlos circles away easily

and Carlos counters with a shoot takedown. Talbot fights it but they end up in guard.
Carlos slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Talbot seems to have got his legs back now.
Carlos looking to sit in guard and control but Talbot gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Despite being in the dominant position, Roberto Carlos just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Carlos stuffs the takedown.
Max Talbot is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Carlos throws a series of strikes that have Talbot backpedaling.
Talbot will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Talbot. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Carlos rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Talbot moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Carlos steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Talbot. That one must have hurt.

Carlos throws a right hand that Talbot ducks under and follows up with a left that Talbot also avoids with ease.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Talbot checks a leg kick.
Roberto Carlos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A combination from Carlos does no damage.
Talbot shoots for a double leg takedown but Carlos sprawls well. He's pushed Talbot's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Talbot closes this distance looking for a takedown but Carlos circles away.

Carlos throws a leg kick but Talbot sees it coming and moves out of range.
Carlos tries to clinch but Talbot is having none of it.

Talbot will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Carlos decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Talbot is not content to let Carlos control the position.
Talbot slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Talbot is working an open guard so Carlos takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Talbot fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Talbot shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Talbot trying to control the action but Carlos is working from the bottom.
Carlos has a hand on Talbot's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Talbot takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Talbot working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Talbot wants to control the pace but Carlos is squirming around nicely.
Talbot manages to capitalize on a mistake by Carlos to take his back!

Carlos wants to escape the position.
Carlos just trying to survive but Talbot is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Carlos controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
Talbot not allowing Carlos to control his hands.
Will Talbot go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Talbot controlling well, preventing Carlos from escaping the position.

Talbot sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Carlos taps out!
