Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sam Uri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jefferson Delgado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Delgado's choice of entrance music: Darude - Sandstorm. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jefferson Delgado! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Delgado fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Delgado swats away the attempt to clinch by Uri. Delgado doesn't manage to clinch there - Uri circles away.

Here come the fireworks! Excellent takedown into side control there by Uri. You can see the frustration on Delgado's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Uri is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Delgado knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Uri thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Delgado regains half guard.

Delgado bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Uri's guard. Delgado looking to pass the guard. Uri tries to land a sweep but no joy. Uri is working hard here to advance position. Uri trying to keep a closed guard but Delgado is proving a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Uri wants to sweep but no luck. Delgado forces his way into half guard. Delgado passes to side control. Uri is trying to get back to half guard. Delgado thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Uri regains half guard. Delgado has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Delgado manages to capitalize on a mistake by Uri to take his back! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Uri feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Uri pushes down on Delgado's leg and manages to get into half guard. Delgado wants to control but Uri is keeping busy.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Uri throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Delgado's waist but Delgado gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Uri off to one side. Delgado steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Uri. Delgado fails with the takedown and Uri counters with a single leg into guard. Delgado didn't expect that. Uri slips nicely into half guard. Delgado is breathing heavily. Uri is working for a kimura but Delgado is defending it quite comfortably.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Uri wants to pass the guard but Delgado is keeping the position. Uri passes into half guard. Delgado works his way to full guard. Good work. Uri tries to free his leg and advance position but Delgado is retaining full guard. Uri trying to control the position from guard on top but Delgado is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Delgado trying to control the position from guard on top but Uri is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Uri has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Delgado off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Uri changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Delgado looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Delgado is not content to let Uri control the position. Delgado is trying to get back to half guard. Delgado is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Delgado looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Uri seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Delgado keeping moving, preventing Uri from controlling successfully. Delgado being controlled here, momentarily. Uri throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Uri feints and as Delgado raises his hands in defense, Uri changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Delgado keeping full guard, as Uri tries to pass. Delgado looking for a guillotine here but Uri defends easily.
Uri is looking to advance position but Delgado has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Delgado is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Uri can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Uri actively working from the bottom here. Delgado takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Uri is looking to escape. Delgado is thwarting Uri's attempts to control the position. Delgado wants to pass to mount but Uri is defending the position. Uri has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Delgado is working away from the top position though. Uri manages to get to full guard.
Uri is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Delgado rolls with it to try and escape but Uri cranks on the arm and Delgado is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
