Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ned Schnidt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schnidt comes into a darkened arena with his song building. PHamous by Midi Mafia kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marcus Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ned Schnidt! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schnidt fails with an attempt to clinch.
Schnidt is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Schnidt. Schnidt throws a solid leg kick but Jones takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Schnidt. Schnidt is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Schnidt throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Schnidt misses with a hook. Jones goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Schnidt displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jones throws out the jab. Jones circles away from the clinch attempt.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jones winds up and cracks Schnidt with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones wants to advance to full mount but Schnidt doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Schnidt controls Jones momentarily but Jones frees himself. Jones trying to control but Schnidt is working from the bottom. Jones stops Schnidt from standing up. Schnidt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jones throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Schnidt works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Jones not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Schnidt is looking to stand up but Jones isn't so interested in that idea.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Schnidt keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Schnidt circles away quickly and effectively. Schnidt wants to clinch up but Jones keeps it at a distance. Jones keeps the fight on the outside. Jones feints and as Schnidt raises his hands in defense, Jones changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Schnidt wants to stand but Jones is controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Jones in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones drops back looking for a leg! Schnidt is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Schnidt manages to kick Jones off! Jones jumps back into Schnidt's guard. Jones trying to control but Schnidt is working from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Schnidt fails in his attempt to clinch. Jones shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Jones's corner calls for a 1-2. Jones obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Jones misses the shot to the body. Jones looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Jones scores with a hook to the body. Schnidt takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jones scores with a body shot.
Schnidt looks gassed! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jones works Schnidt's body with a nice hook. Jones throws a good cross that connects.

Jones fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Schnidt sprawls well initially but Jones persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Jones keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Jones stops Schnidt from getting back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round. Schnidt has hold of Jones's hands but Jones slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Schnidt is looking to escape. Jones thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Schnidt's head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones not doing much here.
Jones throws a strike but Schnidt avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Jones controlling from the top position. Jones prevents Schnidt from getting back to his feet. Schnidt controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Jones scoring with some ground and pound. Schnidt has momentary wrist control but Jones slips an elbow through the middle. Schnidt keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. Jones prevents Schnidt from getting back to his feet. Jones postures up in Schnidt's guard and throws a big left but Schnidt blocks it. Schnidt is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Jones is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Jones working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schnidt wants to stand but Jones is controlling the position. Jones lands a couple of decent looking shots. Jones sitting in guard, not really doing much. Jones drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jones jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Schnidt is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Jones controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Jones's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Schnidt keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.

Jones not landing any meaningful shots this time. Jones prevents Schnidt from improving his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Jones throws a body punch but Schnidt moves out of range. Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Schnidt moves away. Jones works Schnidt's body with a nice hook. Jones drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Jones swings for the body but Schnidt moves out of range.

Schnidt tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Jones counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Schnidt tries to kick Jones off but Jones keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Schnidt manages to escape and get back to his feet! This has been an exciting period of action! Schnidt has closed the distance and engaged Jones in a clinch.
Schnidt lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Jones or not. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Schnidt scores with a shoulder strike. Jones breaks from the clinch.

Schnidt tries to clinch up. Schnidt wants to clinch and Jones counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Schnidt looks like he's trying to stand up.

Jones is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Schnidt doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jones. Schnidt looks like he's trying to stand up.
Ned Schnidt has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jones landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jones in particular looking to stall. Schnidt is looking to escape. Jones slips a nice elbow through Schnidt's hands, connecting with Schnidt's forehead.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Schnidt is looking to escape. Schnidt looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Schnidt looks like he's trying to stand up.
Jones is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Jones working for a guillotine from mount but Schnidt is in no mood to give up. Schnidt tries to reverse the position but Jones maintains control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Schnidt swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Schnidt throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
And that's the end of the fight! Marcus Jones showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
