Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Caruso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Vera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jonathan Caruso! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Vera! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vera closes the distance and clinches up with Caruso, looking for a takedown. Vera pushes Caruso against the cage but Caruso circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Vera misses with a double jab.

Caruso manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Jonathan Caruso has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Vera. Vera fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Caruso keeps the fight on the outside. Vera fails to land the takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice sprawl there from Caruso as Vera shoots in. Vera gets caught flat footed, as Caruso shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Vera has a loose triangle. Caruso thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Vera keeping moving, preventing Caruso from controlling successfully. Vera is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Vera can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Caruso controls the pace. Vera has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Caruso can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Caruso trying to control but Vera is working from the bottom. Caruso stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vera swivels though and keeps the full guard. Caruso wants to control from the top but Vera keeps moving.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Vera has his takedown stuffed and Caruso decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. Caruso bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Vera throws Caruso to one side and escapes! Vera tries to clinch and Caruso counters with a takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Caruso is looking to take a break and control but Vera is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Vera is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Caruso is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Vera has escaped the position, nice work there. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Caruso wants to stand but Vera is controlling his arm.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vera manages to get back to half guard. Vera is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Caruso pulls his head out easily. Vera makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Vera has his takedown stuffed and Caruso counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Caruso. Vera is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Vera is looking to break free of the clinch but Caruso has double underhooks. Caruso is trying to drag Vera to the mat but Vera just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Vera manages to pull guard.

He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Caruso reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Caruso taps out! nice BJJ there by Vera!
