Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hessu Hopo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mc Jitus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Hessu Hopo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mc Jitus! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hopo walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Jitus shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hopo as he avoids it easily. Hopo has a takedown stuffed. Hopo drops his hands momentarily and Jitus takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Jitus shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hopo pinned against the cage. Hopo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. A nice leg kick lands there from Jitus. No joy there for Jitus, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

It looks like Hessu Hopo has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hopo gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Jitus. Jitus drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Jitus looking to pass the guard. Jitus wants to control from the top but Hopo keeps moving. Hopo can't keep his opponent in guard - Jitus advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jitus wants to pass to mount but Hopo is defending the position. Hopo tries to kick Jitus off but Jitus keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Jitus has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Jitus scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Hopo?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jitus prevents Hopo from getting the reversal. Jitus jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Hopo manages to avoid the submission attempt. Jitus is looking to take a break and control but Hopo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Jitus swings around for an armbar but Hopo sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Jitus's guard. Hopo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jitus looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hopo is one step ahead there. Jitus had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hopo defends it easily. Jitus looks gassed! A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hopo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Jitus throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hopo works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Jitus is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Hopo wants to sweep here but Jitus controlling him for the moment.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Jitus throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Hopo has his takedown stuffed and Jitus counters with a nice double leg into guard. Jitus stands up from guard. Let's bang! Jitus gets a clinch. Hopo manages to pull guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jitus trying to control the position from guard on top but Hopo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jitus throwing strikes from guard but Hopo blocks nicely. Hopo working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Jitus. Jitus looking to pass the guard. Hopo keeping moving, preventing Jitus from controlling successfully. Jitus postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hopo wants it to stay on the feet. Hessu Hopo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mc Jitus. Jitus shoots in but Hopo avoids the takedown attempt easily. Hopo fails miserably with a takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mc Jitus dominated that round. The cut man is working on Hessu Hopo's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Hopo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jitus swivels and escapes. Jitus closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Jitus is trying to control the action in half guard but Hopo is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Hopo is trying to stand back up but Jitus is controlling him

Hopo tries to get to full guard but Jitus has control of the leg. Hopo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Jitus decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Hopo showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jitus.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jitus throws a head kick that Hopo semi-blocks.

Hopo did well to prevent Jitus getting side control. Jitus takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Jitus content to control rather than advance. Jitus seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hopo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hopo wants to get back to his feet. Hopo on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Mc Jitus has got the better of the ground game so far. Jitus is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hopo is just riding it out for now. Jitus eventually gives up the hold. Jitus wants to pass the guard but Hopo is defending well.

Jitus is taking a breather. Hopo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Hopo tries to get to full guard but Jitus has control of the leg. Jitus uses his free foot to push down on Hopo's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hopo. Jitus working for a submission but Hopo is keeping him at bay. Hopo is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Jitus trying to control but he's not successful this time. Hopo tries to hold on but Jitus pushes him away. Jitus trying to control but Hopo is having none of it. Hopo is trying to get back to his feet but Jitus has full control of the position and if anything, Hopo has just worked his way into a worse spot. Hopo is looking to improve his position but Jitus isn't that keen on the idea. Jitus wants to control the pace but Hopo is squirming around nicely. Jitus looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Jitus with a couple of short strikes. Jitus controlling his opponent. Jitus has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Hopo tries to buck Jitus off but he can't manage it. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hopo wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Jitus is persistently looking for the submission but Hopo is defending it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hopo has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. Can Hopo hold on?! Jitus is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.

Jitus shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hopo but Hopo pushes him off and we're back to square one. Hopo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jitus tries to avoid it but Hopo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jitus to the ground. Jitus escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Hopo chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jitus can pounce on him.
Jitus wants to clinch up but Hopo keeps it at a distance. Jitus misses with a looping left. Hopo takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Jitus throws a nice looking combination but Hopo bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Jitus scores with a jab. Hopo fails with a takedown attempt. Jitus tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Jitus leaves Hopo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Jitus decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Well, if Jitus is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hopo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jitus looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Jitus can't do much from the bottom here. Mc Jitus is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Hopo misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
And that's the end of the fight! Mc Jitus comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Jitus has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
