Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Frank Drebin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timo Balles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Timo Balles has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Frank Drebin's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Drebin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Timo Balles! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Eliza Hachem and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Drebin throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Drebin fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Balles sprawls well initially but Drebin persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Balles won't allow Drebin to pass to mount. Drebin is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Balles tries to kick Drebin off but Drebin keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Balles blocking the ground and pound attempt from Drebin. Drebin slows the pace down in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Drebin is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Balles is trying to stand up here but Drebin is controlling him well. Drebin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Balles is just riding it out for now. Drebin eventually gives up the hold.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Drebin is pressing down on Balles's thigh, looking to free his foot. Balles is holding on for now. Drebin wants to work for an arm triangle but Balles is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Drebin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Drebin wants to advance to full mount but Balles doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Drebin is breathing heavily. Drebin throws a big right hand that misses. Drebin trying to control the position from guard on top but Balles is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Drebin wants to pass the guard but Balles is keeping the position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Drebin seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Drebin drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Balles dives on top into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Drebin dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Balles with a poor takedown and Drebin counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Balles! Drebin dominating with strikes here. Balles is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Drebin controlling his opponent. You get the feeling that Balles really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Drebin is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Balles is looking to clinch but Drebin is avoiding it.
Balles looks for a takedown but Drebin sprawls well. Balles keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Balles is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Drebin scores with a takedown into Balles's guard. Drebin is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Drebin stands up from guard. Let's bang!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Balles doesn't succeed with the takedown and Drebin counters by moving into the clinch. Frank Drebin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Timo Balles. Drebin drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Balles lands a nice knee to the body. Balles tries to land a knee to the head but Drebin blocks with his arms.
Drebin is trying to break the clinch but Balles has him pressed against the cage. Balles slows down the pace here.
Drebin jumps guard but Balles stands there with Drebin around his waist. Drebin gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Drebin tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Balles just stands there and leans against the cage. Drebin wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Balles misses with a knee to the head. Drebin fails to pull guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Balles unloads a knee to the mid-section. Drebin lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Drebin tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Balles smiles and moves away.
Balles wants to clinch but Drebin slips to the side and Drebin counters with a nice double leg into guard. Drebin trying to control the position from guard on top but Balles is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Balles can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Drebin controls the pace. Drebin stands up and waves to Balles to follow him. Drebin has taken the fight to the clinch.
Drebin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Drebin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Balles is trying to stand back up but Drebin is controlling him
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Drebin working the head and body with strikes. Drebin throws a strike but Balles avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Drebin controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Drebin slips nicely into half guard. Drebin is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Balles doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Drebin. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Drebin dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Balles forces Drebin back against the cage and clinches. Drebin dodges an elbow strike from Balles.
Balles tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Drebin is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Drebin fails to pull guard.
Drebin has had enough of the clinch but Balles keeps him there for the moment. Drebin tries to break the clinch but Balles is controlling the position. Drebin looking to stall.
Drebin wants to get back to striking at distance but Balles won't allow it.
Drebin manages to pull guard.
Drebin is controlling Balles's posture. Drebin throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Balles takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Drebin has his foot on Balles's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Balles works his way back into a safe position though. Drebin thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Drebin looking for a guillotine here but Balles defends easily.
Drebin looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Balles has picked Drebin up and slammed him! Drebin can't keep hold of the triangle and Balles manages to pass to side control!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Drebin manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Drebin is positioning himself well to prevent Balles advancing to mount. Frank Drebin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Drebin manages to escape and get back to his feet! Drebin checks a leg kick nicely. Balles gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Balles keeping moving, preventing Drebin from controlling successfully. Drebin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Balles swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Drebin is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Drebin's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Timo Balles has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
And that's the end of the fight! Frank Drebin showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Drebin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
