Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Reginald Fireside!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steyer throws a big shot that misses.
Fireside tries to clinch but Steyer moves out of range.

Steyer clinches up against the cage.

Steyer lands a takedown into guard.
Steyer sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Fireside keeping moving, preventing Steyer from controlling successfully.
Steyer is pushing down on Fireside's leg trying to pass to half guard. Fireside is fighting to maintain full guard but Steyer has managed to sneak the leg through.
Fireside wants to control but Steyer is keeping busy.

Steyer is looking for a kimura here.

Fireside makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Steyer lands a nice hook to Fireside's body. Fireside takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Fireside is breathing heavily.
Fireside takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Fireside shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Steyer shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Fireside pinned against the cage. Fireside gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Steyer doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Fireside counters with a head kick. That will keep Steyer thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Fireside fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Steyer, pushing him back against the cage.
Fireside swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Steyer misses with an elbow strike.
Steyer is trying to break free.
Steyer blocking some punches.

Steyer has picked Fireside up - he's going for a ride! Steyer dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Steyer uses his free foot to push down on Fireside's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Fireside.
Steyer trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Fireside wants to hold on but Steyer pushes him away.
Fireside really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Fireside has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Steyer biding his time, looking for the opening.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Steyer patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Steyer is striking from the back but Fireside escapes and manages to recover to half guard.

Steyer is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Fireside pushes Steyer off looking to stand but Steyer dives back in and keeps control.
Steyer content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Fireside is looking to control Steyer's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Fireside avoid being mounted?

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Fireside tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Steyer paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Steyer throws a left and a right that both miss

and Fireside counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Fireside manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Steyer postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Fireside wants to stand and escape but Steyer is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Steyer thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Fireside wants to sweep here but Steyer controlling him for the moment.
Steyer trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wilhelm Steyer dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Steyer misses with a right hand

and Fireside moves into the clinch.

Fireside breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Steyer with a poor takedown
and Fireside counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Steyer is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Fireside fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Steyer throws an off balance right hand
and Fireside counters with a left and a right that stings Steyer.
Fireside lands with a kick to the temple. Steyer shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Fireside breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Fireside is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Steyer throws a jab when Fireside was well out of range.
Steyer misses with a takedown attempt
and Fireside makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Steyer throws a right hand that misses
and Fireside counters with a head kick.
Fireside wants to clinch up but Steyer keeps it at a distance.
Steyer misses with a left hand

and Fireside counters by clinching up.
Steyer is trying to break free.
Steyer wants to break free but Fireside has control.

Fireside manages to break the clinch.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Fireside counters with an outside leg kick.

Fireside tries to clinch there but Steyer circles away.

Steyer fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Fireside, pushing him back against the cage.

Steyer changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Fireside fights it off and pushes away nicely.

and Fireside decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Steyer's guard.

Fireside stands up and waves to Steyer to follow him.

and Fireside counters with a series of strikes. Steyer will be more careful next time no doubt.

Fireside forces Steyer back against the cage and clinches.
Steyer is trying to break free.

Fireside lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Steyer tries to break the clinch but Fireside is controlling the position.

Steyer has Fireside pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Steyer pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Fireside tumbling to the mat - Steyer dives into Fireside's guard.

Well, if Steyer is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Steyer is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Fireside wants to control but Steyer is having none of it.
Fireside knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Steyer on the ground.
Steyer wants to take Fireside's back here but Fireside is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

Fireside tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Steyer has control of Fireside's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Fireside regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Steyer avoids the attempt from Fireside to control.
Fireside is wriggling around trying to escape.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Steyer controlling the pace for now.
Fireside is squirming around, avoiding Steyer's attempts to control the action.
Fireside tries to hold on but Steyer pushes him away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Steyer won't let Fireside get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Steyer looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Steyer jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Fireside manages to avoid the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Reginald Fireside dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Fireside shoots in for a double leg but Steyer sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Reginald Fireside is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Steyer misses with a lunging right hand
and Fireside counters with a good, hard body kick but Steyer shrugs it off.
Steyer closes the distance and clinches up with Fireside, looking for a takedown. Steyer pushes Fireside against the cage but Fireside circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Steyer looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Steyer throws a sloppy head kick and Fireside moves out of range easily.
Fireside tries to clinch there but Steyer circles away.

Steyer shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Steyer was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Steyer takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Fireside is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Steyer goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Fireside turns into him and now he's in Steyer's guard.
Fireside is looking to stand up but Steyer won't let him.
Steyer can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Fireside controls the pace.
Steyer not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Steyer keeping moving, preventing Fireside from controlling successfully.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Steyer throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Steyer wants to sweep here but Fireside controlling him for the moment.

Steyer tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Fireside swivels and escapes.

Steyer looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Fireside has Steyer up against the cage in a clinch.
Fireside comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Fireside has Steyer pressed against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Wilhelm Steyer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Steyer has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
