Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tamehr Al Arhoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lyoto Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Al Arhoff might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Dethklok - Hatredcopter. Tamehr Al Arhoff could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Lyoto Emelianenko's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tamehr Al Arhoff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lyoto Emelianenko!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Emelianenko closes the distance and clinches.

Emelianenko breaks from the clinch.
Al Arhoff tries to clinch but Emelianenko moves away
and Emelianenko counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Emelianenko lands a front kick.
Al Arhoff clinches but Emelianenko breaks the clinch

and Emelianenko counters with a left and a right that hurts Al Arhoff! He wobbles and falls to the floor - he's in big trouble! Emelianenko jumps into full mount!


Al Arhoff is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Emelianenko's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Let's hope that Emelianenko has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Despite being in the dominant position, Lyoto Emelianenko just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Al Arhoff tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Emelianenko counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Al Arhoff tries to close the distance and clinch but Emelianenko swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Emelianenko feints and as Al Arhoff raises his hands in defense, Emelianenko changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Al Arhoff is breathing heavily.

Emelianenko drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Al Arhoff manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Emelianenko has Al Arhoff in his guard.

Emelianenko scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Emelianenko has managed to clinch.

Emelianenko tries to clinch up but Al Arhoff circles away and keeps his distance.
Emelianenko is trying hard to land a takedown here. Al Arhoff sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Emelianenko fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Al Arhoff, pushing him back against the cage.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Al Arhoff tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Al Arhoff blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Al Arhoff tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tamehr Al Arhoff. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Emelianenko pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Tamehr Al Arhoff seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Emelianenko scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

It looks like Tamehr Al Arhoff has been cut.
Al Arhoff moves in looking to clinch but Emelianenko pushes him off.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Emelianenko.

Emelianenko is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Al Arhoff knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Emelianenko remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Emelianenko tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Al Arhoff paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Lyoto Emelianenko is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Emelianenko is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Al Arhoff's half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Al Arhoff has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Emelianenko is working away from the top position though.

Lyoto Emelianenko showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Al Arhoff has his takedown stuffed
and Emelianenko counters with a one-two to the body.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Emelianenko slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Emelianenko passes Al Arhoff's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Lyoto Emelianenko is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Emelianenko is taking a breather. Al Arhoff says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Lyoto Emelianenko.
Emelianenko stalks Al Arhoff and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Al Arhoff's face. Al Arhoff staggers backwards, shaken.

Emelianenko clinches with his opponent.
Al Arhoff has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Emelianenko avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Emelianenko has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Al Arhoff regains guard immediately.
Emelianenko prevents Al Arhoff from getting back to his feet.
Al Arhoff can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Emelianenko controls the pace.

Emelianenko stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Al Arhoff swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Tamehr Al Arhoff has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Emelianenko gets to his feet. Al Arhoff looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Lyoto Emelianenko comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Emelianenko has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
